From a young age I recognized the importance of self-healing, well being and a higher consciousness, enabling insights and acknowledgement of self-development. My journey includes a background of psychiatric welfare, counseling and crisis work.
I also lived in a rural community, raising 2 children, building and farming with permaculture principles, whilst being aware of naturopathic and healing attributes. As a single mum, I trained and worked as massage therapist, studied Theosophical teachings and specialized in counseling, healing and spiritual principles under my mentor and teacher Tarajyoti Govinda.
After completing my Bachelor of Naturopathy at Southern Cross University, I undertook post graduate studies in Herbal Medicine, working in pharmacy and in clinical practice.
Presently, I am enjoying my role as a mother/grandmother and alongside my partner Hugh run a busy clinic in the beautiful town of Caloundra on Queensland’s sunshine coast.

My awareness of natural health and healing came to me in my late teens, when working life took me overseas. Experiencing other cultures and meeting other travellers soon made it clear that a person’s health and well being had little to do with medicines and vaccines, and everything to do with how well they cared for their diet and lifestyle.
I later began organic farming and husbandry before beginning formal studies in Natural Medicine. My children were home birthed without medical intervention, and the only time they’ve needed medical help was when they fell off the swing (or out of a tree!). Now as a therapist with years of direct involvement in people’s wellness, I am still in awe of our own healing power, the huge shift in awareness of healing and the marvellous range of treatments available to us today.
My naturopathy combines medical training with natural treatments including herbal medicine and nutritional management, which Vanessa says I am absolutely passionate about! My further training has been in massage, spinal care (Dorn Method) and energy balancing/relaxation (Breuss massage, Reiki).
